The Afro-descendant community of the Rosario Islands

A place where culture, nature, and tradition are proudly embraced.

We are a community with more than 200 years of history, connection to the sea, and tradition

Their traditions, history, and culture are the soul of the archipelago and an essential part of the Colombian Caribbean.

Our ancestors lived off artisanal fishing and the cultivation of coconuts and tropical fruits, sustainably exploiting marine and terrestrial resources.

With the arrival of tourism, they found new ways to share their cultural heritage and protect their ancestral territory.

Orika Community Council

We are the organization that represents the Afro-descendant community of the Rosario Islands. From here, we promote ecotourism, sustainable development, and land conservation projects.

Through the Orika Ecotourism Alliance,

they offer authentic experiences with echotelles, native hostels, and local guides who share island life, traditions, and commitment to conservation.

The sea is their source of life and spirituality

Experiential fishing, traditional sailing, and mangrove tours honor the history of a seafaring people.
